The 1964 North American Tour

After their successful engagements on The Ed Sullivan Show in February, 1964, and a concert in Washington, D.C. that same month, The Beatles returned to North America in the summer to begin their first tour there between the dates of August 19 and September 20.

During those 34 days, The Beatles performed 32 shows in 25 venues across the United States and Canada. On the original bill with the lads from Liverpool were the Bill Black Combo, The Exciters, the Righteous Brothers, and Jackie DeShannon. The Righteous Brothers left the tour by the end of August and were replaced by Clarence 'Frogman' Henry.
